I enjoy testing new photography concepts. I recently posted a Model Call on my Searcy Ar. ddh Photo Facebook page looking for three teens to help me test new ideas. One of the concepts that I posted was -
"A very unique fashion look with LOTS of sparkle. A girl with an interest fashion and in experimenting with different looks would be perfect for this."
I was excited when Mariah, 2013 Riverview graduate, volunteered to help me test this look. Sometimes a concept test works, sometimes it doesn't. When it does not I make adjustments and then try it again. This time it worked on our first try. The lighting and materials worked as planned and Mariah did an excellent job executing it.
She arrived at the ddh Photo Shop Studio with lot's of family support. Her mom and grandmother were busy designing her custom dress from the very shiny sheets of material that I had purchased. They collaborated on the fashion design, cutting, taping, clipping, adjusting and making sure that everything was perfect. Mariah's brother came along to lend his encouragement and he also enjoyed a little time with the quarter horses in the pasture next door to my studio.
Here are a few images from our test. We have more to share, but it will be a few weeks before I can. Mariah submitted several images to a magazine and we are anxiously waiting to see if they will be selected for publication.
I have two more concepts that I would like to test. If you are interested in being a model for a day and helping me with them click on the 'Contact' tab at the top of this page to let me know. Here are the other two -
- A fun sports theme. The perfect candidate for this is a teen boy or girl that knows how to swing a bat and drive the ball to the outfield with authority.
- A rock and roll look. A boy or girl with a love of music and a little bit of an attitude would be perfect.
