I support Searcy's Center on the Square Dinner Theater by volunteering to photograph the final rehearsal of each of their performances. I asked Patrick Reilly, Director for COS's current play to select a few of his favorite photos for you, and to tell us a little about his experience with the theater.

-------------------------------------------------

Hello, my name is Patrick Reilly. I am the owner of Quality Office, Inc. here in Searcy.  I have been a resident of Searcy for twenty-eight years. I am a big believer in volunteering in and supporting your local community. Searcy is a great place to live and work; great communities don't just happen - they require intentional involvement.

One of the ways that I have been volunteering for the past few years is giving of my time and skills at Center on the Square. Center on the Square is a local performing arts theater. They put on several main stage productions, KidStage programs, and dessert theatre productions each year. COTS is located on West Arch - just off the square in Searcy.

I started by volunteering to help build the sets for the plays. From there - I auditioned  for my first show, and, to date, I have acted in six shows. My next step - the one I am involved in currently - is directing. I directed, along with an assistant director - Karen Alford - the play Bull in a China Shop. There are twelve cast members in this particular show. I have to say that because of their talent they have made me look like I really knew what I was doing! Bull in a China Shop, written by C.B. Guilford, is a great story - and the cast tells it well.

We all have gifts that God has given us. I would challenge anyone to find a place here in your community to put those gifts to use - make it an intentional involvement.
